Being in University Students ABSTRACT: The present study focuses on well-being, sleep and the possible relationship between well-being and sleep in university students. 631 students from the University of Évora participated, filling out the EMMBEP and PSQI instruments. The results reveal that students have a desirable level of psychological well-being but poor sleep quality. The relationship between well-being and sleep quality is as expected, with higher levels of sleep quality corresponding to higher levels of well-being. Significant differences were also found in well-being and quality of sleep due to sociodemographic variables. In general, our study shows that university students may be dealing with academic life in order to maintain their well-being, however, with negative implications for the quality of their sleep, pointing to the importance of promoting the quality of sleep among college students.
