Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:The purpose of this paper is to analyze the macroeconomic fluctuations registered in the French economy during the COVID-19 recession. This will be achieved by performing a Business Cycle Accounting exercise, based on the framework proposed by Chari et al. (2007a) and with the support of BCAppIt!, an application developed by Brinca & Loria (2020), available as a MatLab add-in. With this tool, we found out that in the period studied, the labor wedge was the most relevant to explain variations in output and hours worked, whereas the efficiency wedge is the best fit for investment simulation.
