Cyberwarfare : a new era of waging war
| Resumo: | As the technological world continues to evolve, so does the type of infrastructures management a nation has, since they are more connected via computer systems. In doing so, if one wants to wage war against a nation, instead of starting by destroying its essential structures by deploying several resources, this can be done by a “simple” cyberattack of its infrastructures’ systems – which can be done remotely. These types of attacks can cause significant damage to a nation’s vital systems and be compared directly with the ones sustained by an actual kinetic attack. This dissertation will focus on the evolution of Cyberwarfare and its impact on society. Considering those are very modern and recent concerns, it is important to understand which laws and regulations on cyberwarfare and cybercrime exist in the international context. Even though there are multiple laws and regulations related to cyberspace, until now there is no specific legislation dedicated to Cyberwarfare. |
