Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This paper aims to present a Project-Based Learning (PBL) experience, that was developed in the city of London and consisted of creating five digital mathematical trails in English. The project was developed by a group of 25 higher education students in the field of Tourism and Event Management, who designed a tourist trail where mathematical manifestations emerged among the cultural heritage of the city of London. The project was divided into four stages and allowed students to combine the learning of curriculum contents with a real-life context. By observing the world around them, students could make an authentic connection between mathematics - exterior elements with decorative art-, digital technologies and the English language. At the end of the project, a questionnaire survey was applied to students, in order to analyse students’ perceptions of the PBL experience, their motivation, satisfaction and the skills developed by participating in the interdisciplinary project. This paper describes the results obtained from the questionnaire and presents the different phases of the project in detail, as well as the mathematical trails that resulted from the project.
