Food sector and productive relations in the Paraná inter-regional - Rest of Brasil system
| Resumo: | This article aims at analyzing the evolution of the food processing sector productive structure within the interregional Paraná-Rest of Brazil(Brazil except Paraná) system in 1980, 1990 and 2000, through using the input-output matrix. The main results indicated that: a) the food processing sectors of both regions became less dependent on the traditional sectors and more dominated by the modern sectors thatact as spreaders of their growth; b) if compared to the Paraná economy the Rest of Brazil showed a productive structure less dependent on thefood processing sectors due to its maturity, diversification and complexity; c)Paraná is more dependent on the rest of Brazil food industr y, showing a production average overflowing effect Paraná-rest of Brazil-bound higher than when it is Rest of Brazil-Paraná-bound, thus it is inferred that the trade between the two regions is very important for the state of the Paraná. |
