Otimização do processo de extração do [6]-shogaol dos rizomas de zingiber officinale roscoe
| Resumo: | Zingiber officinale Roscoe (Zingiberaceae) is a species widely used by traditional medicine because of its therapeutic properties, mainly related to secondary metabolites [6]-gingerol, [8]-gingerol, [10]-gingerol and [6]-shogaol. [6] -shogaol, a degradation product of [6] -gingerol, is mainly found when ginger is subjected to high temperatures. According to some authors, this substance has biological activities superior to [6]-gingerol, and therefore presents greater potential as a prototype for the search of new drugs. Thus, the objective of the work is to optimize the extraction of [6]-shogaol from the rhizomes of Z. officinale using ethanol as solvent extractor. The extractions were carried out in the presence of a catalyst (p-toluenesulfonic acid), using techniques: Soxhlet (90°C, 2 h), microwave (60 s), ultrasound (50 °C, 60min), maceration 2 h), and the associations microwave / Soxhlet and ultrasound / Soxhlet. To evaluate the extraction efficiency of each process, the amount of [6] - shogaol (mg/g dry ginger) was determined by HPLC. The most efficient extraction process for obtaining [6]-shogaol was the soxhlet, used for the optimization, using factorial design 32, with temperature, extraction time, type of solvent and mass of catalyst, as study variables. The results indicated that the catalyst mass (100 mg) and extraction time (24 hours) positively affected the yield of [6]-shogaol, favoring the formation of [6]-shogaol from [6]-gingerol (1.86 mg/g). |
