A hipótese do período crítico na aquisição de língua materna
| Resumo: | This paper reviews the literature concerning the influence that the age of first contact with a mother tongue may have on the acquisition of a first language. The assumptions underlying the construct critical period, which is widely used in biological sciences, are firstly discussed in order to better understand the proposal of the Critical Period Hypothesis for language acquisition. Some cases of infant linguistic isolation are described so as to discuss the validity of such Hypothesis. |
