Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:The application of vanadium in production of microalloyed anti-seismic rebars dates from the beginning of the 20thcentury, being widely used in civil construction focused on regions susceptible to earthquakes. This work aims to review the effects promoted by the addition of vanadium in the manufacture of anti-seismic rebars, taking into account two different rolling processes –Reheating Furnace (FR) and Direct Rolling (DR) –as a way to bestow gains in resistance, maintaining satisfactory levels of tenacity and elongation. Microstructural and mechanical properties tests were carried out between production batches from the two processes, evaluating properties such as medium grain size, yield limit and resistance limit, correlating them with the effect caused by the use of vanadium, concluding that its impact on the refining of austenitic / ferritic grain and hardening through precipitation of vanadium carbonitride has essencial importance to obtain satisfactory mechanical properties in anti-seismic rebars.
