Estudo das propiedades quìmicas e reológicas do Ligante Asafalto-Borracha
| Resumo: | The use of crumb rubber from scrap tires as a modifier for Asphaltic Binder (AB) has been successfully used since it has advantages with respect to the environment as well as in reducing pavement maintenance costs. The objective of the present work is to analyze chemical and rheological characteristics of an AB with penetration 50/60 produced from Brazilian petroleum, modified with 5, 10, 15 and 20% of crumb rubber and 0; 2.5; 4.5 and 6% of Extending Oil (OE). Test results showed that the rubber increases the absolute viscosity of the AB, and it is necessary the addition of OE to improve the product workability. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that the rubber used presented 30% of carbon black in oxidative atmosphere up to 700°C. From 200 to 700°C, it presented 63% of elastomer in inert atmosphere and 1.6% of plasticizer. Improvements in the shear modulus (G *), performance grade and elasticity were detected in the asphalt-rubber binder as the rubber content increased. The spectra in the infrared area showed that the rubber reduces the oxidative aging of AB, showing a smaller carbonyl formation (C=O) in the area of 1650 and 1680 cm-1 (parameter used in the oxidative aging) and oxygenated constituents. |
