Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:The following research aimed to verify the relationship between postural control (PC) and the risk of falls in obese and non-obese elderly women, through the Force Platform, Timed up and Go Test, Fall Risk Score, body mass index, and waist circumference. The Fall Risk Score showed a significant difference (p=0.048) suggesting that elderly women with obesity have a higher risk of falls when compared to non-obese women. Static PC presented p=0.026 in COPap with eyes closed in obese and dynamic PC p=0.007 in COPml in non-obese.
