A eletro-oxidação de combustíveis orgânicos sobre nanopartículas de PtNi
| Resumo: | Population growth has increased the global demand for energy from renewable sources. In order for you to find a problem with the required energy increase, alternative sources will be needed. In this context logically as fuel cells. One of the fuel cells is a DMFC, which uses methanol as a direct fuel source. However, during the methanol oxidation process the CO is formed as an intermediate, and this may cause a poisoning of the surface of the electrocatalyst. Nanoparticulate materials based on PtNi have a good performance in the electro-oxidation process of alcohols. It is well known for the geometric arrangement of species on the electron density of the adsorption spot. Therefore, the objective of the present work was to obtain information about the electro-oxidation reaction of methanol and formic acid on nanoparticles of PtNi, as an electrocatalyst, in a núcleo-shell, intermetallic order and alloy configuration, and analyze as activities through electrochemical evaluation. As electrochemical activities are evaluated by techniques of cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry |
