#chloroquine: Political polarization on Instagram during the coronavirus pandemic
| Resumo: | The exceptionality caused by the coronavirus has not been has changed the increasing circulation of fake news. In Brazil, an example of this has been the political use of chloroquine and its derivative, hydroxychloroquine, by President Jair Bolsonaro, who, even without scientific evidence, claims the prevention and cure capacity of Covid-19 through the use of these drugs. A position that put the pandemic debate at the heart of political polarization. Therefore, with the aim of studying this aspect this paper proposes the analysis of one hundred Instagram posts linked to the hashtags #cloroquinasalvavidas and #cloroquinanãoprevinecovid19.As a consequence of the behavior of the President of the Republic, the results demonstrated the politicization of a debate that, usually, should be essentially scientific. |
