Uma abordagem histórica sobre o número π
| Resumo: | This work aims to make known a little history of the π number, whosesoever context treat how the ancient Egyptians gave a great contribution to the study of It, like that of Archimedes of Syracuse and Chineses. Also highlight the π approach during the course of the centuries, specifically around the XVI Century to the XX Century, where in the latter was the advancement of computing. Therefore we will treat the statement of some important formulas to calculate π and analyze the scholars who had larger approximation of how many decimal places have π, are: François Viète, John Machin and James Gregory. Thus, we note that π is a very important number for mathematics, and scholars think is very useful, and since ancient times It was synonymous with study, once everyone wanted to discover the unknown digits of that number, and today we already know a lot, but back when there was no computer mathematicians needed many years to find so, It's history fascinating. |
