Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Idioms are characterized by being composed of two or more words and submit one opaque meaning, not understandable by the sum of their words. Due to these characteristics, the teaching / learning of these linguistic elements become difficult and they are scarcely mentioned in teaching materials like textbooks and dictionaries. Whereas the dictionary serves to support the learning of vocabulary by native and foreign students, in this paper we aim to analyze the treatment given to idioms in dictionaries of Portuguese native language and foreign language based on classifications proposed by lexicographers. This work is a pilot study conducted under Lexicography, Terminology and Teaching Group (LETENS) of Universidade Estadual do Ceará (UECE) that develops research in dictionaries.
