Correlation study of iron deficiency anemia, iron deficiency, nutritional deficiency and associated factors: Literature review
| Resumo: | The aim of this study was to carry out a literature review on iron deficiency anemia, with an emphasis on the correlation between nutritional deficiency and related factors. Using the Scielo, PubMed, Academic Google and VHL databases, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, using the following inclusion criteria: publications made in January 2010 until 2021, which correspond to the proposed objectives, highlighting the diagnosis, treatment and the prevention of iron deficiency anemia and the following exclusion criteria: published prior to 2010 and not meeting the objectives. Nineteen articles were selected that fit the desired objectives. Through the research carried out, it was possible to conclude that iron deficiency anemia is considered the most common of anemia, and can be cited as a serious public health problem, with main emphasis in developing countries. In addition, it can be seen that iron deficiency anemia is caused by several factors that can be internal and external, where any symptom, whether specific or not needing to be analyzed, requires that a detailed diagnosis be made, that its treatment be complete and accompanied by a professional in the area and that prevention methods are passed on to society and thus prevent individuals from suffering from this condition. |
