Implantação e gerenciamento de uma rede sem fio nos domínios de um campus universitário
| Resumo: | This paper describes good practices using different network technologies achieving creation of wide area coverage for mobile access to an IP network in an academic campus. The benefits of wireless networks are daily reality for IT resources users, and recent polls shows education sector as the biggest responsible for investments creating mobile networks at developed countries. Our goal in this paper is a case study at Federal University of Lavras for creating a wireless network at low cost compared to proprietary solutions, in order to provide ubiquitous high-speed access for laptops and wi-fi devices. The results are shown as the convergence of network regarding technical requirements, legislation and standards, monitoring and management capacity, and proposing future works to expand mobile coverage and allow new interconnections. |
