A práxis arqueológica no Castelo de Leiria: balanço e análise da atividade entre 1996 e 2018.
| Summary: | The internship report presented is a detailed analysis of the archaeological interventions carried out at Leiria Castle between 1996 and 2018. This work, part of the Master's Degree in Archaeology and Territory at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra, aims to evaluate the archaeological practices carried out at the castle, observing the methods, techniques, results and their contribution to archaeological research. The analysis is divided into several parts. Firstly, the introduction presents the practical aspects of the internship and the historical-geographical background of Leiria Castle, as well as a description of its physical structure. The central part of the report focuses on the archaeological interventions, divided into three periods: 1996-1997, 2001-2011 and 2011-2018. Each period is analysed in detail, taking into account the archaeological work regulations of 1999 and 2014 and the specifications associated with the Leiria Castle Enhancement and Requalification Plan (PVRCL).Quantitative and qualitative data from the intervention reports are presented to illustrate the changes and impacts of the different regulations on archaeological practice. The fourth part of the paper discusses the social impact of archaeological interventions, including a survey of the population to understand public perception of archaeology and the castle's historical heritage. The study culminates with a reflection on the dissemination of the archaeological heritage of Leiria Castle and the role of the interventions in the cultural and historical enhancement of the site. The report concludes with considerations on the importance of archaeological interventions for the community and for the development of Leiria's historical and archaeological knowledge. |
