Coimbra, Cidade Educadora: Da Teoria à Prática
| Resumo: | This report is part of the curricular internship for the Master's Degree in Education Sciences at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Coimbra, carried out at the Education Division of the Department of Education and Health of the Coimbra City Council. During this period, the intern became involved in institutional dynamics, collaborating and also analysing a wide range of educational activities and projects covering different areas, including schools in the public school network of the Municipality of Coimbra and various cultural facilities. In addition to the projects, given that Coimbra has been an Educating City since 2007, the intern also had the opportunity to attend the 10th National Congress of the Portuguese Network of Educating Cities carried out in Santo Tirso. Following the work carried out in the Education Division, and with the purpose to further explore the theme of Educating Cities, the intern undertook a research study within the scope of the International Association of Educating Cities, which is included in this report. The study aimed to analyse the presence of the principles of the Charter of Educating Cities in projects implemented or ongoing in the Municipality of Coimbra. This qualitative exploratory research was based on documentary analysis and direct observations. The results obtained led to reflections on how the incorporation of these principles can contribute to reinforcing Coimbra’s identity as an educating territory. |
