Resumo:Port electrification through Shore Power systems is essential for maritime decarbonization, allowing ships to shut down their diesel generators at berth and draw power from an onshore electrical grid while docked. This dissertation focuses on the adaptation and physical implementation of a control system for three-level Neutral-Point-Clamped (3L-NPC) multilevel converters, which is essential to ensure compatibility between the 50 Hz electrical grid and the 60 Hz international fleet. Due to its superior performance compared to conventional control strategies, Model Predictive Control (MPC) was utilized. Its performance was validated in a MATLAB/Simulink environment, ensuring compliance with the IEEE 519 standard (THD < 5\%) under various load conditions. The core contribution of this work lies in overcoming hardware resource limitations. To guarantee the determinism and speed required for real-time control, the algorithm was implemented on an FPGA (Zynq UltraScale+). However, a direct parallel implementation, where each logical operation occupies a dedicated physical space on the chip, exceeded the device's capacity by 25 times. Through the development of a serialized digital architecture, a drastic reduction in resource occupation was achieved (approximately 237x in LUTs and 6.5x in DSPs), demonstrating the feasibility of controlling the entire electrification system on a single low-cost chip. In summary, this optimization proves that it is possible to combine the high performance of predictive control with resource efficiency, establishing a scalable and robust solution for future port infrastructures.
