Analysis of same emigratory cycles in Portuguese emigration

View document

Bibliographic Details
Summary:In a first article, published in n.° 45 of Análise Social, the authors, after having introduced the preliminary notions of emigratory cycle and of the possible causes likely to originate the cycles, presented as an example the case of the emigratory variable «quantity of permanent workers arrived in France, detailing the mathematic analysis done, in order to underline the functional factor responsible for the cyclic behaviour of that variable. In the present article they intend to generalize the previous analysis, furnishing the study on a series of emigratory variables at first, in order to make even more evident the intrinsic cyclic trait (endogenous causes) of Portuguese emigration towards France. Such an analysis enables them, after that, to establish a classification of the different kinds of emigratory cycles.
