| Description | The journal *Aprender* published its first issue in January 1987 and, from its inception, has collectively positioned itself as a scientific, educational, and cultural initiative of the then School of Education, now the School of Education and Social Sciences at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre. *Aprender* publishes two issues per calendar year, and special issues or supplements may also be published. Articles may be published in Portuguese, English, Spanish, or French. The primary objectives of the journal *Aprender* are: (i) to publish scientific and research papers, with a view to disseminating scientific knowledge and fostering the exchange of ideas regarding educational, training, social, and cultural realities in the fields of education, research, and intervention; (ii) to encourage the production and dissemination of scientific research and work in areas of intervention across the various fields of activity of the School of Education and Social Sciences at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre; (iii) to facilitate scientific and educational exchanges among faculty members and other professionals in the region, as well as nationally and internationally; (iv) the creation of a publication platform for faculty, researchers, and students. The journal *Aprender* publishes scientific works in the fields of Education and the Social Sciences. |
