De Lima Vaz to the «death» of man and to the introduction of American peoples in history respectively. We have in view to answer to these criticisms through an  analysis of the antropological understandings that can be taken from the work Popol Vuh. Keywords: Foucault, Lima Vaz, Popol Vuh, pre-Colombian anthropology.
