The linear economic model disseminated from the industrial evolution has generated an alert regarding the great use of natural resources, as they are becoming increasingly scarce. Then comes the need to create a new model, the Circular Economy, based on sustainable principles and which has remanufacturing as an important tool for the extension of product use cycles. The concept brought within the remanufacturing aims to mitigate the impacts of overproduction and high consumption through the disassembly, cleaning and repair of damaged parts, turning products that were in the process of disposal into products ready for new use, with guaranteed quality and functionality. This study aimed to carry out a bibliometric research, within the scientific bases Scopus and Web Of Science, and to identify the evolution of publications on remanufacturing within the context of the Circular Economy. Through this research, it was possible to demonstrate the evolution of the theme in the last five years, mainly in European countries and China. The number of publications practically doubled and it is possible to observe a tendency to relate the themes to areas of technology, such as Industry 4.0, Blockchain, Machine Learning, among others, which goes beyond the remodeling of the product design alone.

SUMMARY The occurrence of fractures in young individuals is frequently overlooked by physicians, especially when associated with exercise or trauma. Nevertheless, multiple fractures should always be investigated since underlying conditions can predispose to such events. We describe here the case of a young, healthy woman who sustained multiple fractures in the lower limbs, which were initially considered to be “stress fractures”. Further investigation, including a panel of genes associated with osteogenesis imperfecta, revealed that the patient is a heterozygous carrier of a SERPINF1 variant. According to criteria recommended by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics and the Association for Molecular Pathology, this variant is classified as likely benign (PM2, PP3, PP4, BP1, and BP4). The patient's mother and brother were also asymptomatic carriers of the variant and had sustained previous minor fractures. The patient had normal biochemical profile and bone density. This condition has been rarely described and is not associated with low bone mineral density or altered bone turnover markers. This case highlights the importance of investigating multiple fractures in young patients who are otherwise healthy since these may be a warning sign of rare genetic conditions associated with fragility fractures.

The frequent coexistence of tinnitus and temporomandibular joint and masticatory muscles disorder (TMD) has led to the assumption that there is a relationship between both conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the tinnitus prevalence in patients with TMD and the effects of its treatment on tinnitus. A total of 57 patients followed in a Stomatology - TMD consultation in 2021 and the first half of 2022 were included. The presence of tinnitus was questioned and the Tinnitus Handicap Index (THI) questionnaire was applied. 72% had 1 or more episodes of tinnitus. 89.5% were female and there were 2 peaks of incidence in the age group between 18-30 (21.1%) and 41-50 years (24.6%). In 85.4% of patients, tinnitus was intermittent and 41.5% had a reduced degree. An association was found between the side of tinnitus and TMD (p<0.001). 67% improved tinnitus after TMD therapy (p= 0.0135).

Abstract The text presents a brief overview of the Plan of Positions, Careers and Remuneration (PCCR/2006) of the state education network of Rio Grande do Norte facing the PCCR/2010 of the municipal network of Pilões (RME/Pilões), discussing how the first has affected the second one. Through the analysis of the Plans, legislation and data collected in the field, it was problematized how the current political situation can have repercussions on the consolidation and possible limitations to the career of the RME/Pilões. It was verified that the state's PCCR influenced expressively the elaboration of the Pilões' one, including some managerial features, and that, although this one has only been in place for a decade, it complies with the law on the minimum wage and presents reasonable possibilities for career movement. Even so, the teachers have been facing the possibility of not being able to make their progress or of having the annual readjustment of the base threatened due to budget limitations that devastate many municipalities in the country.

Mediterranean silvopastoral systems (Montado in Portugal or Dehesa in Spain) are considered High Nature Value farmlands with sustainable and low-intensity human use that unite forestry and livestock production, being characterized by a habitat mosaic that combines natural and semi-natural grasslands, a tree layer with different densities of Quercus spp. (mainly Q. suber or Q. rotundifolia, or both) and singular landscape elements (e.g. small shrublands, small rocky outcrops, temporary ponds, and watercourses with riparian galleries). Singular landscape elements are crucial to ecosystem services' functioning by providing habitat heterogeneity and connectivity that support species' life cycles and sustain ecological networks. As the management of Mediterranean silvopastoral systems intensifies, with overgrazing threatening the maintenance of singular landscape elements, these systems' functionality and high biodiversity are compromised. Designing restoration solutions tailored to the farmland context could be a helpful strategy to offset the landscape simplification and multifunctionality loss of the silvopastoral systems. Very high-voltage power line pylons, widespread also trough farmlands, can be handled as an artificial singular landscape element by using their base surface to promote native vegetation and provide an opportunity to restore landscape heterogeneity and connectivity to plants and some fauna. The area under very high-voltage pylons is negligible for agricultural or grazing uses and challenging to access by machinery, being frequently left unmanaged and, therefore, available to apply restoration solutions without compromising the landowner's productivity and profitability. Our study tested the hypothesis that vegetation under very high-voltage pylons can be restored to create elements of heterogeneity in grazing systems. We tested two restoration solutions: a passive one by grazing exclusion and an active one that combines grazing exclusion with a native seed mix application. We aimed to assess these restoration solutions' effectiveness in recovering Mediterranean vegetation patches under very high-voltage pylons and their effects on the plant community's composition, diversity and vertical structure. The study, carried out over five years, took place in southern Portugal under 15 very high-voltage pylons (plots of 48m2) distributed in Mediterranean silvopastoral systems grazed by cattle. We fenced 10 plots in autumn 2017: five to Passive Restoration by excluding cattle grazing and promoting natural regeneration, and five to Active Restoration by sowing a seed mix of herbaceous and shrub native species. We also established five plots as control (No Intervention). We surveyed the vegetation and assessed the plants' abundance and the mean vegetation height before (spring 2017) and after the intervention (spring 2018-2021). We evaluated the species richness, Shannon index diversity, vertical structure (vegetation mean height) and the dissimilarity of the community composition between the pre- and post-intervention periods. The restoration solutions increased plant communities' heterogeneity at the landscape level by establishing plant communities underneath very high-voltage pylons that contrast in plant composition and vegetation vertical structure with the surrounding grassland. Although more time-consuming and expensive, the active restoration solution increased species richness and maintained species diversity locally. In contrast, the passive restoration solution, at the local scale, maintained species richness but decreased species diversity. The bases of very high-voltage pylons can effectively be used to create singular landscape elements in grazed systems and may serve as stepping stones between remnants of natural vegetation. Using the bases of very high-voltage pylons to promote native vegetation and increase landscape heterogeneity can be a complementary strategy to offset the adverse effects of overgrazing in silvopastoral systems and a new approach to bring natural elements into agricultural landscapes, as shown in our pilot essay.

The antinociceptive effects of interleukin (IL)-4, -10, and -13 were investigated in two different experimental pain models. Our results showed that pretreatment (30 min) with IL-4 (1–5 ng/animal), IL-10 (0.4–10 ng/animal), or IL-13 (0.4 –2.5 ng/animal) inhibited the writhing response induced by the i.p. administration of acetic acid (53–89%) or zymosan (63–74%) in mice, and the knee joint incapacitation induced by i.a. injection of zymosan (49–66%) in rats. Neither of the cytokines affected the pain elicited in mice using the hot-plate test. This analgesic effect of IL-4, -10, and -13 was not reversed by the combined pretreatment with the opioid receptor antagonist naloxone. IL-4, -10, or -13 significantly inhibited the release of both tumor necrosis factor (TNF)- (60, 53, and 100%, respectively) and IL-1 (80, 100, and 100%, respectively) by mice peritoneal macrophages obtained after local (i.p.) injection of zymosan. Antisera against IL-4, -10, and -13 potentiated both the zymosan- induced writhing response and the articular incapacitation. Our results demonstrate that IL-4, -10, and -13 display analgesic activity that is probably not due to endogenous opioid release. This analgesic effect could be related to a peripheral mechanism, probably via the inhibition of the release of the pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF- and IL-1 by resident peritoneal macrophages.
