O Programa MIT-Portugal foi lançado a 11 de Outubro de 2006, no âmbito da estratégia do Governo de promover a capacidade científica e tecnológica nacional e o reforço das instituições científicas portuguesas a nível internacional, e centrou-se no domínio dos "Sistemas de Engenharia". Este programa envolve uma parceria entre o Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT e Universidades e Laboratórios Nacionais.Durante o primeiro ano de actividade do Programa foi estruturado o envolvimento das instituições de ensino e investigação com o objectivo de garantir o sucesso e a sustentabilidade de um conjunto ambicioso de programas de investigação e ensino.Este esforço resultou num conjunto inédito e inovador de programas de doutoramento atribuídos conjuntamente por diferentes universidades portuguesas em colaboração com o MIT, e também em programas anuais de especialização e/ou formação avançada (Professional Masters) destinados à formação de alto nível de quadros de empresas. As áreas temáticas envolvidas são: Engenharia de Concepção e Sistemas Avançados de Produção, Sistemas de Bioengenharia, Sistemas Sustentáveis de Energia e Sistemas de Transportes. No âmbito do Programa estão a ser identificados projectos de investigação e desenvolvimento, que envolvam investigadores do MIT e das instituições Portuguesas, na condução de projectos com interesse para o tecido económico Português, sendo esta sinergia valorizada pelo programa de afiliação industrial.

Jenny Erpenbeck und Shumona Sinha sind Zeugen dafür, dass die Flüchtlinge zumindest literarisch schon in Europa angekommen sind - und dass es gleichwohl einer enormen Anstrengung der Übersetzung bedarf, um diese Ankunft in lebbares Leben zu verwandeln.

This work presents the material constants of the MIT-E3 model and discusses some considerations about how they are evaluated. Seven of them are evaluated by tests, which are specified. The remaining eight parameters are defined in a parametric study. The paper presents a sensitivity study of the characteristics of each parameter that is defined indirectly: post-failure behaviour, non-linear elasticity, the development of plastic deformations inside the yield surface, the evolution of the pore pressures induced by the shear stresses, and the rotation speed of the axis of the yield surface.
