The use of a biomodel allows for simulation and aids in team communication, can be used as prostheses, reduces surgical time, and is a reliable copy of bone tissue. Thus, this work aims to report a clinical case of using the biomodel in orthognathic surgery, in order to demonstrate the benefits obtained with the use of biomodels in surgical planning, such as reducing time, increasing predictability, pre-modeling of titanium plates used in bone fixations. Melanoderma patient, male, sought dental care, with dissatisfaction of facial aesthetics and difficulty in phonation, chewing and breathing. After a detailed physical examination and evaluation through imaging tests, Angle skeletal classification III was identified, with indication for surgical treatment. The trans-operative was simplified and faster due to the previous model of the plates and precision of adaptation of them in the bone surface. The use of biomodels and the previous modeling of fixation plates favored greater surgical precision, through the reduction of trans-operative morbidity and reduction of surgical time. Thus, it emphasizes that this type of approach can be an important ally in the treatment of correction of dento-facial deformities. Furthermore, the knowledge of these new tools enabled a better diagnosis and surgical precision.

The primary dentition is essential for good performance in masticatory functions, swallowing, phonation and occlusion. There are several factors that can interfere with the balance of the development of primary and / or mixed dentition, among these factors the premature loss of primary ones stands out. The aim of this study was to conduct a literature review addressing the use of space maintainers and retrievers in dentistry. According to the literature, it was observed that space maintainers are orthodontic devices used in order to replace one or more primary teeth, preserving the space for the successor permanent tooth. They are classified as functional and non-functional and fixed and removable, being selected according to the patient's age and number of missing teeth. Recuperators are dynamic orthodontic devices, and their purpose is to recover spaces that were lost after extraction of primary teeth. It is essential that the dentist performs an early diagnosis of problems arising from space in deciduous or mixed dentitions, knowing the etiological factors involved in premature loss, as well as the orthodontic treatment options available.

Faced with bacterial infections, the dentist is able to prescribe antibacterials for the patient, as long as there is information about the causative agent of the infection and the prescribed drug. In view of this, the objective of the present study was to analyze the knowledge of undergraduate dentistry students at a private college in the Bahian Recôncavo about the prescription of antibacterials. It is a descriptive research, with a qualitative-quantitative approach. One hundred and fifty-nine students from the 4th to the 10th semester participated in the survey, with the majority of students (50.9%) saying that they had already prescribed antibacterials and felt safe to carry out the prescription (58.4%). However, in relation to the rules and mandatory elements that must be included in a prescription, 54.7% of the students stated that they carry out this type of prescription with the absence of elements that would validate the prescription. Demonstrating that it is still necessary for academics to deepen their knowledge about a correct prescription. Regarding the main indications for the use of this drug, measures to avoid bacterial resistance and about antibacterial prophylaxis, it was observed that the students' knowledge is satisfactory, since most answered the questions correctly.
