    Publication
    by Figueira, Margarida Maria Silva

    Publication
    by Mazai, Cibele

Art and technique of applied marquetry in contemporary furniture design

    Publication
    by Vieria, Ardalla
Other Authors: Nejeliski, Danieli; Rigo, Fernanda
    Origin: Oasisbr
The production of prints, textures and reliefs through surface design has enabled the creation of bold and creative projects for different segments of industrial production, among them the furniture industry. The marquetry is a technique of ornamentation of flat surfaces by creating designs with the application of different materials, especially wood veneers. The present work has the objective of creating a pattern of marquetry from a conceptual reference and the subsequent application on the surface of a piece of furniture. The concept was defined from the analysis of the formal  constitution of the Ruins of São Miguel da Missões. The furniture developed was a side table, with functionality inspired by the structure of the ruins. The marquetry was made from geometric modules, in the colors red, blue and light wood, being applied in one of the pieces of the table. Combining a traditional, artistically executedtechnique with a cultural reference, the result was a contemporary style furniture. Finally, the furniture prototypewas produced.

Macroscopic anatomical characteristics of amazon forest species in the development of visual patterns in Surface Design

    Publication
    by Costa, Jéssica Ester Elvas
Other Authors: Nascimento, Claudete Catanhede do; Freitas, Jorge Alves de
    Origin: Oasisbr
The Amazon rainforest presents a diversity of species that can be explored and disseminated through Surface Design in conjunction with the area of wood anatomy. Therefore, this study aimed to generate visual patterns from the use of macroscopic images generated through the analysis of tangential, radial and transversal sections of an Amazonian species. Thus, samples of Amazonian species were collected at the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia (INPA), which were scientifically identified and one of them was selected to obtain macroscopic images of the wood and visual analysis of the anatomical elements and development of visual patterns. the species Pithecellobium racemosum (Angelim Rajado) was selected. Through the results obtained, it was concluded that scientific knowledge about the anatomy of wood can be used as a creative source in Surface Design in order to disseminate and value the Amazonian Forest diversity.

    Publication
    by Sanches, Regina Aparecida
Other Authors: Vicentini, Cláudia Regina Garcia; Avelar, Suzana; Souza, Rejane de Oliveira
    Origin: Oasisbr
Instruments and techniques used in the Textile printing process often influence the result of image reproduction. Information on the different types of digital textile printing technologies was collected through bibliographic research as well as on printed samples. For the purpose of analyzing how digital textile printing influences image reproduction, this study presents different samples with different fabrics to understand those relevant factors. 100% cotton and 100% polyester plain weave fabrics with different patterns and 100% polyester jersey were selected in the retail market for printing tests with a single file containing several images. The images were printed at three resolutions: 300, 150 and 72 PPI. The 150 PPI images were excluded from this article, as they did not have significant differences compared to theothers. The experimental results show that there are differences between the characteristics studied in the images with a resolution of 300 PPI and 72 PPI, which allows a set of practical information regarding digital printing technology on textile substrates to be organized.

BioStudio: tingimento e estamparia de tecidos orgânicos utilizando bactérias

    Publication
    by de Abreu, Breno Tenório
    Origin: Oasisbr
