It is important that those who teach Occupational Therapy are really prepared or at least attentive to the societal changes because they can make all the difference in teaching Gen Z, iGeneration, Plurals or Centennials, currently students of Pre Graduate Courses. I´ve been teaching since 2010. But in 2018, a student became euphoric by understanding how many digital platforms the National Health Service had available for interaction with citizens, and I understood that my teaching would never be the same! I realized that I had a digital generation ahead of me. Therefore, this poster aims to provide awareness to this topic. Next will be presented same resources used in Classes. They are useful for Health System Teaching in Occupational Therapy Classes from first to last (4th year). Three different type of resources: Health Literacy Library, Health APPS & individual health platform. The digital generation is ahead of us. There is a considerable difference in interests, in the way to be present, observing and reflecting on the subjects debated inside and outside of class. In other words, it has become crucial to integrate the digital strategy and tolls in the classroom. The most relevant ones I used, and I agree should be prioritized in investigation are: Health Literacy Libraries, Health APPS & national individual health platform. The resources I talk about are really useful in classroom, in life & Occupational Therapy practice.

Estudo Exploratório acerca da Identidade da iGeneration

    Publicação
    por Oliveira, Mariana Filipa Miranda
Generation Z is made up of individuals who are at a stage of development with two of the developmental tasks that stand out as being essential for the expression of individual personality: adolescence, which is essential for the formation of their identity, and emerging adulthood, where the building of intimate relationships takes place. While Baby Boomers, at this stage of development, were already getting married and starting a family, this Generation (Z) has a conscientiousness about the current political, historical and social context, which prevents them from following the same path. Thus, their concern about the challenges that future generations may have to face is noteworthy, as is their fight for social causes, another characteristic of this generation. The Perception of Self and Others, Patterns of Behaviour, the Influence and Impact of Social Networks, Before and After Covid-19 and Social Categorization are themes that will be analysed, supported by the narratives of the participants in this study, made up of individuals born between 1995 and 2010, crossing theory with data analysis, through the qualitative research method, supported by Grounded Theory. The data suggests that various concepts such as comparison, self-concept, decision-making, authenticity, values, affective responsibility, bullying, as well as the feeling of not identifying with the generation to which one belongs and the confrontation of the real versus virtual world, are present in this Generation known as the first Generation of “digital natives”.

The market is overloaded and increasingly competitive. Therefore, strategies such as brand activation become extremely important to differentiate companies, investing in the creation of value between the brand and consumers, especially the younger ones. In this article, I present a critical analysis of some relevant data about the brand activation with Generation Z, offering a broad view of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of this process. The aim is to understand how this socio-demographic segment relates to brands and vice-versa, both at present and anticipating the future of this bilateral relationship that will go through the union of offline and online.

O medo do consumo solitário: comentários em canais infantojuvenis de YouTube do Brasil e de Portugal

Sociotechnical networks both promote the appearance of social news and reinforce old dynamics: fears, passions, dreams, expressions. YouTube, through its algorithm and tools, gives rise to interpersonal dynamics and identity perceptions, both in production and consumption. In this sense, in this study we analyzed 500 comments on the 10 most consumed children’s YouTube channels in Brazil and Portugal, perceiving different dynamics in productions, as well as similarities and imitations in consumption and expression in relation to consumption. However, what stood out most in this study was the revelation of a widespread fear of loneliness in the cultural consumption of products and trends on YouTube. Realizing what is being consumed online seems to be a social thermometer used by young people to feel present and connected.
