    Publication
    by Luz, Rosinêz Fátima da
    Origin: Oasisbr

    Publication
    by Moura, Sérgio de Almeida
    Origin: Oasisbr
This work is linked to the research line "Fundamentals of Educational Processes" of the PostGraduation Program of the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Goiás. The objective is to understand how the perspective of evaluation of the school organized by cycles of human formation according to the Political-Pedagogical Proposal of the Municipal Network of Education of Goiânia, management 2001-2004, is characterized, and to perceive how this perspective is confronted with the evaluation mode traditionally constituted in the school organized by the seriation. The main authors that help us in our analyzes are Coêlho (2012), Freitas (2003; 2005) and Lima (2002; 2003), mainly in the identification of school logic and evaluation in confrontation. The methodological choice was that of the case study research (Bogdan and Biklen, 1994), which directs the use of three different ways of accumulating data and its subsequent analysis: the bibliographic survey, the documentary research, and finally, the part empirical. The empirical part was accomplished by conducting interviews with three responsible for the proposal in the SME / Goiânia in the period. Data analysis revealed aspects of the implementation of the formation cycles in Goiânia that are very similar to the experiences of the Plural (MG) and Citizen (RS) schools in two senses: first, it refers to the fact that they are prefectures administered by the Workers Party, which coincides with the Brazilian historical context in which there was the expectation that the State (Federation, States and Municipalities) would adopt practices that would universalize social policies and social inclusion, especially the indices of poverty and misery constituted during the previous decades; second, it shows that, in general, all the experiences of formation cycles point to the confrontation of school failure as an objective. It is inferred specifically that the evaluation perspective proposed in formation cycles of Goiania contributes with possibilities of advancement of the school in the struggle for the improvement of the quality of teaching and its consequent reduction of failure rates. But it also reveals the limits perceived in the reality of the serial school logic, characteristic of the current historical particularity, which contradictorily impede the implementation of advances. The results were only possible by confronting the two models of school organization in their correctness and their contradictions in the practice of evaluation and in the very process of reversing the numbers of school failure.

    Publication

    Origin: Oasisbr
Environmental themes have been approached from different interpretations of reality, from conservative ideological perspectives to critical. Considering Environmental Education (EE) as a field of dispute, it is important for environmental educacion to understand the environmental discourse of the subjects involved in the educational process. In this sense, this study was born from the concern to know the EE carried out in the public schools of Goiânia-GO. This work then proposed a reflection from the conception and pedagogical practice involving this education and its consequences. It covered historical theoretical excerpts and tried to understand the relationships established in the school routine and outside of it about EE, that is, environmental educacion in formal and non-formal education. For this, it was considered the educational process in which the educator works and the way he appropriates concepts and realities. It is a case study in a municipal school and the identification of some actions in EE in, specifically, 30 (thirty) municipal schools in Goiânia. As a data collection instrument, a quiz interviews and observation were carried out in order to: check whether the studied school contemplates or not conceptions and practices consistent with the transformation of individuals; to know the continuing education offered by the Municipal Education and Sport Secretariat (SME) to the network's teachers to understand the relationship it establishes with knowledge and practices in schools; identify EE practices in non-formal space, specifically in Parque Areião / Vila Ambiental and Parque Zoologico de Goiânia. The study defends the critical EE advocated by authors such as Layrargues (2008), Loureiro (2009), Cruz et al. (2013) and others. From this path, the SME's Political-Pedagogical Proposals (PPP), the environmental educacion PPPs were identified in a non-formal space, such as in the parks, and the speeches of teachers and managers of these institutions were analyzed. The research questions were: How has EE been accomplished in elementary education in municipal schools in Goiânia? And outside school, in public parks, how has EA been going in Goiânia? As a result, it was found that environmental educacion has happened in municipal public schools and in the parks of Goiânia in an significant, incipient and punctual, largely, based on the conservative concept, focused on care, love and environmental protection.

    Publication
    by Souza, Christianno Almeida de
    Origin: Oasisbr
This study observed the speeches of English teachers at the public school in Taquaral de Goiás, with the aim of understanding the teachers’ refractions that influence English language teaching and learning in this context. The research questions seek to identify what are the refractions of the participating teachers revealed in their discursive practices about their learning of English as students of basic education and higher education and their teaching practice in this language. Besides to understand which elements of these discursive practices are related to the teaching-learning of foreign language-English in this context?. From a theoretical point of view, this study is based on the concept of language and the concepts of ideological sign, concrete utterance, dialogism, dialogic subject and refractions according to bakhtinian theory (BAKHTIN, 2011 and 2014; BRAIT, 2005; FARACO, 2009 and 2013; SOBRAL, 2009, GERALDI, 2010, STELLA, 2017 and etc.). In addition, this study provides a historical overview of the teaching of LE-English (CAMARGO, 2017), the academic training of the English teacher (OLIVEIRA, 2011), the public school and the relationship with the English language (SCHMITZ, 2011) and the official documents that regulate and guide the teaching of LE-English (ZACCHI, 2003; OLIVEIRA and LAGO, 2020). As for the methodology, the qualitative approach of an interpretive nature was chosen along with the case study method. The instruments for data generation were the questionnaire and the autobiography. The participants of research were seven English language teachers who at some point worked or work at the Colégio Estadual Princeza Izabel in Taquaral de Goiás since the 1990s. The data collected revealed that the participants had classes in basic education with a strong focus on grammar and translation activities, the English course, according to the participants' point of view, did not prepare them for the job market, they had to participate in private English language classes in private language courses. However, even reporting all the difficulties, they always propose to diversify their classes, focusing on the motivation of their students and change the way how the subject is viewed by society.

    Publication
by Hoelzle, Maria José Lacerda Rodrigues
    Origin: Oasisbr
Much of the discourse concerning English teaching as a foreign language in the public school deals with failure. The reasons given range from problems with human resources, such as poor teacher training and students without basic literacies for language learning (JORDÃO, 2010), to structural and financial factors. In this scenario, I believe that, when we, as English teachers, merely have linguistic goals, regardless of the discursive ones, the sense of failure and impotence intensifies. Therefore, I sought to do a study, grounded on Critical Applied Linguistics, in a 6th grade classroom at a public school in Goiânia in order to create engagement moments and to destabilize sociabilities, understood as discursive positions (MOITA LOPES; FABRÍCIO, 2013), which have been crystallized over time in relation to issues such as family, race, gender and social classes. I worked as a teacher researcher and my aims were to analyze: 1) 6th grade students’engagement in critical English classes at a public school; 2) the destabilization moments during interactions driven by the activities proposed; 3) my experience with the critical work. This study is based on postmodernism to demonstrate how truths and totalities went through a crisis and how it was reflected in questions of knowledge, reaching the curricular studies. In this sense, this study was guided by theorizations about curriculum (SILVA, 2000; PARAÍSO, 2004; HENNING, 2009; LOPES, 2013) and critical literacy and multimodalities as new possibilities for language teaching in Brazil (COPE; KALANTZIS, 2005; MENEZES DE SOUZA, 2011; DUBOC, 2012; JORDÃO, 2013; ZACCHI, 2014).The participants who took part in this study were 11 male students and 7 female students, and the data were generated in 25 classes in the second half of 2014. The research instruments were questionnaires, audio-recording of classroom interactions, students’ work, a diary written by me and a final interview. The research is qualitative and is configured as a case study of autoethnographic nature. In the analysis, I could see that most students demonstrated greater engagement in activities of visual and multi-modal meanings, as well as in collective productions. In regard to the destabilizing moments, they occurred discreetly, given the power of crystallized speeches on the topics focused on. Concerning my practice, I believe I could cause destabilization moments, but on several occasions, I perpetuated hegemonic standards or failed to discuss important issues, which I believe to be part of this critical work that I am learning to construct. With regard to oral and written issues, I realized that, even resorting to Portuguese during the oral practice, it is possible to instigate students to think about social issues in English. The use of English language occurred more broadly in individual written assignments. By comparing the positions of the group at the beginning and at the end of the study, I realized that most participants showed satisfaction when dealing with critical issues during English classes. Moreover, most of them realized that "learning" the target language and "discussing" social aspects can happen simultaneously. Overall, the analysis suggests that a critical work can be done in basic education with promising results.

    Publication
    by Ferreira, Neusa Sousa Rêgo
    Origin: Oasisbr
The purpose of this research is to study the State Military Police Schools of Goiás, specifically for its implementation process, which began in 1999 and intensified after 2013, by means of a Pedagogical Technical Cooperation Agreement signed between the State of Education, Culture and Sport and the Public Security Secretariat of Goiás, through the Military Police Education Command of this State. The research has as general objective to investigate the processes of implementation of Military Colleges, taking as a locus of research a State College of the Military Police of Goiás in Aparecida de Goiânia - which we take as our "case" to be studied - in the perspective of understanding the motivation of its origin, its implications and transformations occurred in the organization of pedagogical work after its implementation in 2015. The central problem can be presented as follows: What are the consequences of this model of "Military Management" for the training of subjects, the quality of education offered and the participation of the families in the process of monitoring the school life of the students attended in the Colleges managed by the Military Police of Goiás? The case study was the methodology used to conduct the research, which had as a locus a college in Aparecida de Goiás, whose military management was implemented from 2015. The data were collected through open and closed questionnaires applied to the students of our sample clipping - High School - and of open questionnaires applied to the parents / guardians and teachers of the same students of the research unit. Thus, the dissertation analyzes the insertion of the Military Police officers in the Goian educational field, their ways and their ways, and the consequent organized resistance movement by the organized civil society, for whom the growth of this Subsystem in the Goiás State Public Network is associated with the pretension of repression of education workers in this state and the exchange of political favors, that is, as an electoral currency. It problematizes the legitimacy of these Colleges and the ways of entering new students. Finally, it analyzes the progress of conservative thinking in the educational field, the process of elitizing public spaces and their relationship with the exclusion of low income families, as well as the intention of social, political and ideological control of students and teachers, in the Internal Rules of these Colleges.
