Mining process has been an important field to academic studies of environmental issues. To that end studies of interactions between the environment and society have claimed attention to Environmental History field, as is the case of our research. This study, entitled “Mining in the municipality of Faina in a perspective of Environmental History” covering the years 1987 to 2015. In that period artisanal mining and mining industry co-existed simultaneously in the municipality of Faina, Goias, Brazil. In the scope of Environmental History, this study aims to understand the array dimensions of the mining process since the colonial period in the municipality of Faina. Those dimensions are the perceptions and feelings of local residents about environment changes and also their positive or negative viewpoints from their experiences in life. Furthermore, this study seeks to link the mineral extraction process historic event to the population development of Faina along with understanding political implementations made by Sertão and Orinoco companies in the perspective of the environmental changes. The considerations presented supports the analysis of the respondents' responses to this historical process that they experienced. The data from this study suggest an economic problem in the municipal area, in addition, a high rate of unemployment. On the other hand, the data also shows the population from the municipality of Faina perceived the infrastructure improvements as a result of the mining process. Whereas, in fact, the improvements are made from the municipal government. This suggests naturalisation of mining in the Faina history as a consequence of the presence from this activity since the beginning formation of the municipality. In view of environmental issues, it has been observed a lack of knowledge about it. Few people could answer the questions. But when the questions were answered the responsibility for environmental matters were assigned to landowners only. This finding presents a significant influence of the advertising campaigns sponsored by companies and politicians in the opinions of local residents about environmental changes.

One of the main characteristics of the demographic formation in the state of Goiás is the migration of workers from all over Brazil who arrive after the 1930s based on the guidelines of the "March to the West". Towards the municipality of Rio Verde, the migration took place mainly after the expansion of the agricultural frontier, in the 1970s, with the arrival of southerners in the country. Twenty years later, starting in the late 1980s, the arrival of the Northeasterners began to be attracted by the job opportunities that arose with the growth of the agro-industrial sector in the city and region. This research calls for a materialistic historical-dialectical understanding, attentive and sensitive about the invisible subject that is at the base of the socio-territorial structure that sustains the economic growth of the so-called “agribusiness capital”, the Worker of the Northeast. From the experience of the political and economic model of the city of Rio Verde, combined with the sharpness in analyzing the most afflicted and deserving of attention, the object of study of this thesis is born. It deals with the contradictory Social Representation that the Northeastern Migrant Worker has over the city of monopoly capitalist agriculture in Rio Verde, Goiás. In order to welcome the voice of the invisible northeastern migrant worker and unclog the social representation that he has, the research was woven with a qualitative and quantitative methodological itinerary throughout the four chapters. First, the formation of Goiás and Rio Verde is discussed in relation to migration in search of jobs and income in a territory understood as a “pesticide city” due to socio-environmental aggression. In the second chapter, there is the northeastern Rio Verde formed by the hands that migrate to work and that weave the important Social-Affective Migration Network. In the last two chapters, the tone of the discussion is raised and with the use of Life Charts and Geophotographs, the study of Social Representations is directed. Through these narratives, it was possible to understand the cloudy and contradictory faces of the northeastern migrant worker thinking about the city of Rio Verde. Finally, by welcoming the voice of these men and women workers, it is hoped to increase the visibility of the group and assist in the emancipation of the subject to the extent that he can question his past in the Northeast, the present in Rio Verde and envision a dignified and fair future for their people in the society in which they live.

In recent years, population declines of amphibians have been observed in different parts of the world. The process of fragmentation and destruction of habitats is considered the most threat to this diversity. Urbanization reduces species richness at assemblage of amphibian reproduction. Due to amphibians require a modest area for survival, some species can thrive in urban fragments. But small population sizes and isolation can cause the loss of genetic diversity and the extinction local. The advertisement calls are the most common vocalizations in anurans that primarily have the function to attract females and secondarily, serve to mediate aggressive interactions between males. For many species, individual reproductive success is directly proportional to the effort put in the corner. The variation between populations may be related to local adaptation, resource availability and reduced gene flow. This study aimed to test the following hypotheses: ( 1 ) Due to the effects of fragmentation and habitat destruction and urbanization , population sizes of Hypsiboas albopunctatus urban parks are smaller than the population size of rural populations , (2 ) There are differences morphometric H. albopunctatus between rural and urban environments , and ( 3 ) Due to the change of social structure as a function of fragmentation and influence of urban noise , there are differences in vocalizations of H. albopunctatus between rural and urban environments . The H. albopunctatus populations of urban and rural environments differ in population size , the body size and characteristics of the advertisement call. Urban populations were smaller than those of the rural environment. The results showed that populations are lower in smaller and changed urban fragments . Urban populations had a lower repetition rate of notes compared to rural environment . This fact may be related mainly to reduced population sizes and consequent behavioral change and structure of choirs of urban environments. It is unreasonable to reject the hypothesis that the sounds of car engines may influence the acoustic parameters of the corners of H. albopunctatus in urban environment. The population of H. albopunctatus Zoo vocalised in higher frequency bands and acoustic variable that is inversely related to body size of individuals as in other anurans. The population of this fragment was the one that differed from all others in both acoustic as morphometric characteristics. These results support the hypothesis that there are differences in the characteristics of the advertisement calls of Hypsiboas albopunctatus between rural and urban environments. The population of P. M. Jardim Botânico was the most distanced itself from the other urban populations in both acoustic and morphometric characteristics as the population size. This population was the most resembled the population characteristics of the rural environment. A same species of amphibian populations may have considerably differences in population structure, morphological and behavioral characteristics due to the fact that some are under the influence of the urban environment and other rural environment. The planning for the conservation of such populations requires more refined analysis that takes into account the aspects of ecological, behavioral and adaptive responses of this species in their specific environment.

    Origem: Oasisbr
It is proposed here to offer a general view of the social and economic factors that have been identified as the main determinants of a country's nutritional situation. The conclusion is reached that income, considered in isolation, is the most important factor in determining the nutritional condition, but once this variable is fixed, other factors such as the extent of the health attendance system, educational level, food and nutrition programs - also play an important part. An attempt is made impirically to decide, which are the determinants of the nutritional situation for Brazil, in the light of previous research. It becomes evident, as the literature leads one to expect that income is the most important factor, and once that is established as true for the case of Brazil too, there also appear as relevant factors ease of access to health services and sanitation. This evidence leads on to the discussion of alternative nutrition policies, showing the magnitude of the redistribution income necessary to cover the nutritional gap and of the role of the meals and nutrition programs, in their latest form (the so called Social Priorities Program, of the present Government).

Hematological studies by several Brazilian and other Latin-American authors who give parameters considered as normal for different populations have been reviewed. Results showed significant differences, due to social, environmental and nutritional factors as well as to different methodological procedures and also to age, sex, race, occupation and other individual characteristics. Three Brazilian studies were selected in the light of the wide variety of parameters included. Ranges are presented as a demonstration of the variations in such samples, presumably considered "normal" by the respective authors presumably "normal". One of the purposes of the present study is to establish the basis for future investigation into the effects of industrialization on the ranges of the hematological parameters of individuals taken to be normal.
