Objective. To translate the EuropeanGeneral Practice ResearchNetworkmultimorbidity definition according to Portuguese cultural and linguistic features. Methods. Similar to the process completed in several other European countries, a forward and backward translation of the English multimorbidity definition using the Delphi technique was performed in Portugal. Results. Twenty-three general practitioners (GPs)—14 males and 9 females—agreed to form the Portuguese expert panel for the Delphi process (59% acceptance rate).The Portuguese definition of multimorbidity was achieved after two Delphi rounds with a mean (SD) consensus score for final round of 8.43/9 (0.73). Conclusion. With this paper the definition of multimorbidity is now available in a new language—Portuguese. Its availability in the local language will raise Portuguese GPs’ awareness about multimorbidity and allow future national and international research. The operationalization of the definition will allow an easier identification of patients with multimorbidity.

Speeches convey ideology through language. The ideological function of advertising lies exactly in this point, i.e. in its symbolic character. Advertising identifies, creates and develops needs through language, offering a sense, along with the promise of happiness. In the context of liberal capitalist society, advertising is being developed as a strategy of myth production conducive to consumption.

Nowadays, digital journalism works at a speed never seen in History. If, before, journalists had time to check sources, observe thoroughly events and write with less pressure, today, journalism by the second can make professionals be the best or the worst in their field. When in conflict, the role of the journalist embedded in the opposed context is even more complex and requires different concern and attention. Language, a journalist's work tool, reflects empathies and tendencies that should not be allowed in a journalism guided by truth and objectivity. Sometimes, even unconsciously, without having time to check and review, news published in newspapers in a context of conflict, end up fanning the flames and encouraging differences. Impartiality is compromised. Northern Ireland, stage for centuries of animosity between catholics/republicans and protestants/unionists, sometimes more or less stable, provided us the investigation corpus. Analizing the discourse of two online newspapers, with different empathies (though not publicly assumed), we will see if the languaged used reflects that same empathy and if different stages of conflict lead to different ways of regarding an event.

O presente relatório de estágio apresenta duas partes distintas, mas complementares. A primeira parte é relativa aos estágios curriculares, inicialmente em jardim de infância, posteriormente em 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e, por último, em creche. Os contextos são apresentados num breve resumo do trabalho desenvolvido ao longo de três semestres. Em simultâneo são descritas algumas das aprendizagens realizadas e, ainda neste capítulo, é feita uma breve reflexão sobre todo o processo investigativo. Na segunda parte é apresentado um trabalho de pesquisa cujo objetivo é perceber como a interação entre os adultos e as crianças pode promover aprendizagens significativas, nomeadamente ao nível da linguagem, em crianças de dois anos. O estudo é de natureza qualitativa, assentando nos registos dos discursos adulto-criança e nas notas de campo. No final deste relatório partilho uma pequena reflexão sobre o percurso académico ao longo dos três semestres correspondentes ao mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. - This report presents two distinct but complementary parts. The first one relates to the curriculum traineeships, beginning in kindergarten, later in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and lastly in day nursery. The contexts are presented, as well as a synthesis of the work developed along the eighteen months (three and a half years). We also describe some of the learnings and competences developed, and, still in this 1st, part we reflect about the investigative process. In the second part, it is presented a research work developed with the aim to understand how the interaction between adults and children can promote significant learnings especially in terms of language in two years old children. The study is a qualitative one, based on observations, records of the dialogues between children and adult, and field notes. At the end of this report we share some reflections about the academic route developed along the three and a half years of the Master in Pre-school Education and 1st Cycle of Basic Education.
