We consider the initial value problem (IVP) associated to the modified Zakharov-Kuznetsov (mZK) equation \begin{equation}\nonumber u_t+6u^2u_x+u_{xxx}+u_{xyy}=0, \quad (x,y)\in \mathbb{R}^2, \; t \in \mathbb{R}, \end{equation} which is known to have global solution for given data in $u(x,y,0) = u_0(x,y)\in H^1(\mathbb{R}^2)$ satisfying $\|u_0\|_{L^2} <\sqrt{3} \|\phi\|_{L^2}$, where $\phi$ is a solitary wave solution. In this work, the issue of the asymptotic behavior of the solutions of the modified Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation with negative energy is addressed. The principal tool to obtain the main result is the use of appropriate scaling argument from Angulo et al [4, 5].

Controlabilidade exata de sistemas parabólicos, hiperbólicos e dispersivos

In this thesis, we study controllability results of some phenomena modeled by Partial Differential Equations (PDEs): Multi objective control problem, for parabolic equations, following the Stackelber-Nash strategy is considered: for each leader control which impose the null controllability for the state variable, we find a Nash equilibrium associated to some costs. The leader control is chosen to be the one of minimal cost. Null controllability for the linear Schrödinger equation: with a convenient space-time discretization, we numerically construct boundary controls which lead the solution of the Schrödinger equation to zero; using some arguments of Fursikov-Imanuvilov (see [Lecture Notes Series, Vol 34, 1996]) we construct controls with exponential decay at final time. Null controllability for a Schrödinger-KdV system: in this work, we combine global Carleman estimates with energy estimates to obtain an observability inequality. The controllability result holds by the Hilbert Uniqueness Method (HUM). Controllability results for a Euler type system, incompressible, inviscid, under the influence of a temperature are obtained: we mainly use the extension and return methods

Well-posedness for some perturbations of the kdv equation with low regularity data

We study some well-posedness issues of the initial value problem associated with the equation $$ u_t+u_{xxx}+\eta Lu+uu_x=0, \quad x \in \mathbb{R}, \; t\geq 0, $$ where $\eta>0$, $\widehat{Lu}(\xi)=-\Phi(\xi)\hat{u}(\xi)$ and $\Phi \in \mathbb{R}$ is bounded above. Using the theory developed by Bourgain and Kenig, Ponce and Vega, we prove that the initial value problem is locally well-posed for given data in Sobolev spaces $H^s(\mathbb{R})$ with regularity below $L^2$. Examples of this model are the Ostrovsky-Stepanyams-Tsimring equation for $\Phi(\xi)=|\xi|-|\xi|^3$, the derivative Korteweg-de Vries-Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation for $\Phi(\xi)=\xi^2-\xi^4$, and the Korteweg-de Vries-Burguers equation for $\Phi(\xi)=-\xi^2$.

In this work, we study the initial value problems associated to some linear perturbations of the KdV equations. Our focus is in the well-posedness issues for the initial data given in the $L^2$-based Sobolev spaces. We develop a method that allows us to treat the problem in the Bourgain's space associated to the KdV equation. With this method, we can use the multilinear estimates developed in the KdV context thereby getting analogous well-posedness results for the linearly perturbed equations.

On the ill-posedness result for the BBM equation

    Publicação

We prove that the initial value problem (IVP) for the BBM equation is ill-posed for data in Hs(R), s < 0 in the sense that the ow-map u0 7! u(t) that associates to initial data u0 the solution u cannot be continuous at the origin from Hs(R) to even D0(R) at any _xed t > 0 small enough. This result is sharp.

On the cauchy problem for a coupled system of kdv equations : critical case

We investigate some well-posedness issues for the initial value problem associated to the system \begin{equation*} \begin{cases} u_{t}+\partial_x^3u+\partial_x(u^2v^3) =0,\\ v_{t}+\partial_x^3v+\partial_x(u^3v^2)=0, \end{cases} \end{equation*} for given data in low order Sobolev spaces $H^s(\mathbb{R})\times H^s(\mathbb{R})$. We prove local and global well-posedness results utilizing the sharp smoothing estimates associated to the linear problem combined with the contraction mapping principle. For data with small Sobolev norm we obtain global solution whenever $s\geq 0$ by using global smoothing estimates. In particular, for data satisfying $\delta<\|(u_0, v_0)\|_{L^2\times L^2} < \|(S, S)\|_{L^2\times L^2}$, where $S$ is solitary wave solution, we get global solution whenever $s>3/4$. To prove this last result, we apply the splitting argument introduced by Bourgain [5] and further simplified by Fonseca, Linares and Ponce [6, 7].

In presence of linear diffusion and non-positive dispersion, we prove well-posedness of the nonlinear conservation equation u_t+f(u)_x=\eps u_xx -\del((u_xx)^2)_x. Then, as the right-hand perturbations vanish, we prove convergence of the previous solutions to the entropy weak solution of the hyperbolic conservation law u_t+f(u)_x=0.

Well-posedness of the initial value problem u_t+f(u)_x=\eps u_xx -\del((u_xx)^2)_x; u(x,0)=u_0(x). Then, as \eps, \del tend to 0, we prove convergence of the previous solutions to the entropy weak solution of the initial value problem u_t+f(u)_x=0; u(x,0)=u_0(x).

We consider a class of nonlinear dissipative-dispersive perturbations of the scalar conservation law @tu + div f (u) = 01 and we study the convergence of the approximated solutions to its entropy solution. In particular, we obtain conditions under which the balance between dissipation and dispersion gives rise to the convergence (by DiPerna's measure-valued solution technique).
