Os eventos podem ser reconhecidos por sua importância enquanto promotores dos destinos turísticos e da cultura, bem como por sua contribuição na preservação e transmissão das manifestações culturais e artísticas. Os eventos culturais, por muitas vezes estão ligados a manifestações e hábitos regionais. E quando se trata do Brasil, ao se falar em evento e cultura, é de fato inevitável não se associar ao carnaval. Dentre as cidades em que o evento acontece, Recife e Olinda aparecem como destinos de carnaval e contam com uma forte tradição cultural, com expressões culturais que nasceram e algumas somente são encontradas lá. Uma delas é o frevo, que nasceu no século XIX e desde então tem participação constante e predominante nestes carnavais, se tornou um dos símbolos da cultura local, bem como Patrimônio Imaterial Nacional e Mundial e teve sua presença alargada a diversos aspectos das duas cidades para além dos dias do evento. Assim, a presente investigação tem como objetivo principal evidenciar a relevância do frevo para a singularidade, a realização e a manutenção do principal evento cultural das cidades do Recife e de Olinda, o Carnaval. O estudo foi sustentado por uma revisão bibliográfica e por recolha de dados através da análise documental e da realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Desta forma, foi possível estudar e compreender o nível de importância dessa manifestação cultural para o evento e para os diferentes aspectos que envolvem ambas as cidades e aos moradores locais.

The present work aimed at understanding the fundamentals and guidelines of musical perception practices based on frevo from body movement, which can be experienced in a conservatorial context for the musical development of technical level students. As a methodological path to be followed, I chose educational action research because its main quality is the deliberate intention for changes in educational practice through pedagogical intervention, and, thus, to produce knowledge. The research field was the Pernambuco Conservatory of Music, which allowed the creation of the discipline Musical Perception and Movement for the development of research with students of the technical course, mostly adolescents. Considering that musical perception needs to be understood inter- and transdisciplinary, the theoretical starting point was the notion of body as the main mediator between the subject and the world under the eyes of Mauss, Merleau-Ponty and Le Breton. Concepts such as enation, motor and affective entrainment, in addition to the neurophysiological evidence of the neuron-mirror system, inspired the main theoretical framework of this study, the theory of embedded musical cognition, which maintains that the way in which we feel, experience, perceive and understand music is shaped from body involvement (leman et al.) Frevo, as a phenomenon of local culture, was the main basic repertoire. Data analysis revealed that from nine pedagogical principles constructed in the pedagogical intervention it was possible to know new ways of acting. Participants understood that perceiving, playing and creating music together is much richer and more meaningful, from a musical and human point of view, than the individual approach, so usual in traditional classes. It was also evident the decentralization of teaching and learning, built interactively. In proposing the activities, my role as an educator was a mediator between the knowledge to be experienced and interactions experienced with the students. In conclusion, it was understood that new forms of action focused on the experience and musical, social, affective, scientific, historical and cultural interactions experienced in the action of the body in motion, based on a repertoire of local culture such as frevo, favors the musical perception of music students at a technical level.

“Interweaving arts: Frevo, Ala Ursa and dance creation processes at school” is a Master's research from the Professional Master's Program in Arts from the Federal University of Paraíba, supervised by professor Dr. Carolina Dias Laranjeira. The research developed a process of creation in dance at school in order to change the ways of relating art and popular cultures in the educational context, contributing to a rupture in the ways of learning, making and appreciating art, inspired by the traditional knowledge of Frevo dance and the Ala Ursa game. For that, it has the participant research as main method, being developed in the classroom, in the field of the studied dances and with the students of a class of the final years of the first stage of Elementary School (years 1-5) of the Municipal School Padre Leonel da Franca, located in the neighborhood of Ernesto Geisel, in João Pessoa - PB.

Resumo O carnaval do Recife esteve entre os interesses de Gilberto Freyre, que, mais especificamente, se preocupava com a influência dos ritmos e práticas carnavalescas do Rio de Janeiro na festa pernambucana. Este artigo busca relacionar as ideias presentes em alguns de seus textos sobre esse tema ao repertório mais amplo de seu pensamento acerca da formação da sociedade brasileira. Balizado pela leitura de obras importantes de Freyre e no diálogo com a crítica sociológica a ele dedicada, o esforço empreendido é o de burilar o jogo comparativo e metonímico que o autor agencia, ao localizar as representações do Recife e do Rio de Janeiro em polos opostos do binômio tradição e modernidade. A relação entre o frevo e o samba fornece novo ângulo para o enfoque dos temas da "adaptação", "influências transregionais" e "equilíbrio dos contrários" que permeiam sua obra.
