Effects of nucleus initialization on event-by-event observables

    Publication
    by Tavares,B. Mattos
    Other Authors: Drescher,H.-J.; Kodama,T.
    Origin: Oasisbr
In this work we present a study of the influence of nucleus initializations on the event-by-event elliptic flow coefficient, v2. In most Monte-Carlo models, the initial positions of the nucleons in a nucleus are completely uncorrelated, which can lead to very high density regions. In a simple, yet more realistic model where overlapping of the nucleons is avoided, fluctuations in the initial conditions are reduced. However, v2 distributions are not very sensitive to the initialization choice.

A study of áv2ñ with NeXSPheRIO

    Publication
    by Andrade,R. P. G.
    Other Authors: Hama,Y.; Grassi,F.; Socolowski Jr,O.; Kodama,T.
    Origin: Oasisbr
Elliptic flow at RHIC is computed event by event with NeXSPheRIO. Reasonable agreement with experimental data on v2(eta) and v2(pt) is obtained. Various effects are studied as well: equation of state (with or without critical point), emission mechanism (Cooper-Frye prescription or continuous emission), type of the initial conditions (average or fluctuating initial conditions).

Effect of event-by-event fluctuations on hydrodynamical evaluation of elliptical flow

    Publication
    by Andrade,R.

    Origin: Oasisbr
Elliptic flow at RHIC is computed event-by-event with NeXSPheRIO. We show that when symmetry of the particle distribution in relation to the reaction plane is assumed, there is a disagreement between the true and reconstructed elliptic flows. We suggest a possible way to take into account the asymmetry and get good agreement between these elliptic flows.

    Particle production from soft processes

    Publication
    by Fachini,Patricia
    Origin: Oasisbr
Relativistic heavy-ion collisions provide a unique environment to study matter under extreme conditions of high temperature andenergy density. In the soft pT region (< 2 GeV/c) particle production is governed by the bulk properties (e.g. hydrodynamic pressure, freeze-out temperature) of the collisions.Total particle yields as well as their distributions in phase space are strongly dependent on these properties. These bulk properties will be discussed and we will compare our heavy-ion results to measurements in the p+p reference system, where multiparticle processes such as recombination and rescattering are generally thought to be negligible. However, we will show evidence for pi+ pi- rescattering interactions even in p+p collisions.

Heavy-ion collisions at LHC in a multiphase transport model

    Publication
    by Ko,Che Ming
    Other Authors: Chen,Lie-Wen; Zhang,Ben-Wei
    Origin: Oasisbr
Using a multiphase transport (AMPT) model that includes scatterings in both initial partonic and final hadronic matters as well as the transition between these two phases of matter, we make predictions on the rapidity distributions and transverse momentum spectra of various hadrons, their elliptic flows, and two-pion correlation functions in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

    Publication
    by Lemos, Dener de Souza
    Origin: Oasisbr
